Psychiatric Care
Mental health care for every stage of life.
Our psychiatrists treat children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. Consultations are unhurried and conducted in Tamil or English, and we explain the diagnosis and the medication to the family as carefully as we explain it to the patient — because a treatment nobody understands is a treatment nobody follows.
Care is available as outpatient consultation, day care, or full inpatient admission where the illness is severe or the person is at risk. Medication, psychotherapy and family work are used together rather than one in place of another.
- Outpatient consultation and follow-up review
- Inpatient admission for acute and severe illness
- Psychotherapy, CBT and behaviour therapy
- Medication review and psychopharmacology management
What we can help with
If what you are facing is not listed here, call anyway — we will tell you whether we are the right place or refer you to one.
Acute Psychiatric Care
Urgent intervention for crises and severe episodes — agitation, suicidal risk, acute psychosis. Intensive treatment to stabilise the person safely, admitted at any hour.
Depression & Mood Disorders
Psychotherapy and medication combined to lift mood, restore sleep and appetite, and rebuild the ability to function at work and at home.
Anxiety & Panic
Generalised anxiety, panic attacks, phobias and obsessive-compulsive symptoms, treated with cognitive behavioural therapy and medication where it is warranted.
Bipolar Disorder
Individualised plans combining mood stabilisers with therapy and family education, so that mood swings are managed before they cost a job or a marriage.
Schizophrenia & Psychotic Illness
Long-term treatment for schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, focused on symptom control, medication adherence and getting the person back to a life they recognise.
Adolescent Psychiatry
Behavioural problems, emotional difficulty, self-harm, exam stress and developmental disorders in teenagers — handled with the discretion adolescence requires.
ADHD & Concentration
Assessment and treatment for attention deficit and concentration problems in children and adults, combining behaviour therapy with medication management.
Childhood Development
Autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulty and developmental delay, with early intervention, parent guidance and therapy tailored to the child.
Geriatric Psychiatry
Dementia, late-life depression, anxiety and memory loss. Cognitive assessment, treatment and practical guidance for the family caring at home.
Sleep Disorders
Insomnia, hypersomnia and circadian rhythm disturbance, treated through behavioural therapy, sleep hygiene and medication when it is needed.
Adjustment & Grief
Support through bereavement, separation, migration, job loss and other transitions that have become more than a person can carry alone.
Counselling Services
Individual, couple and family counselling for relationship difficulty, anger, stress and the ordinary crises that do not have a diagnosis attached.
Nobody is rushed, and nobody is talked over.
1. Assessment
A full history — symptoms, duration, medication already tried, family history, substance use and physical health.
2. Explanation
The diagnosis, what it means and what it does not mean, explained to the patient and the family in plain language.
3. The plan
Medication where it helps, therapy where it helps, and a clear statement of what improvement should look like and by when.
4. Review
Regular follow-up to adjust dosage, manage side effects and step treatment down when the person is stable.
