De-Addiction Centre

De-addiction

Breaking the hold of a substance.

At the Dunamis De-Addiction Centre we treat dependence on alcohol, drugs, tobacco, nicotine and compulsive behaviours. Every admission begins with a full medical and psychiatric assessment, because the right treatment depends on what is actually being used, for how long, and what else is going on underneath.

Withdrawal is managed medically. Therapy follows. Relapse prevention runs for months after discharge. Men and women are treated in separate residential programmes, each adapted to the pressures and circumstances that tend to accompany addiction for that group.

  • Medically supervised detoxification with 24-hour nursing cover
  • Individual counselling and daily group therapy
  • Cognitive behavioural therapy and trigger management
  • Family counselling and structured relapse-prevention follow-up
Programmes

What we treat

Each programme has its own protocol, its own counselling focus and its own typical duration.

Alcohol De-Addiction

Alcohol withdrawal can produce seizures and delirium, so detox here is always medically supervised. Treatment then addresses the physical dependence and the emotional reasons for drinking together, with family counselling to rebuild trust at home.

Drug De-Addiction

For dependence on heroin, cannabis, synthetic drugs, sedatives and prescription medication. A multidisciplinary team builds a plan covering medical detox, therapy for the underlying causes and long-term relapse prevention.

Tobacco De-Addiction

Chewing tobacco and gutkha cause enormous harm and are among the hardest habits to stop. We combine nicotine replacement where appropriate, behavioural therapy for cravings and triggers, and a personalised quit plan.

Smoking Cessation

Structured cessation programmes using medical support, counselling and group accountability — plus the stress-management skills that make the difference between quitting and staying quit.

De-Addiction for Men

A gender-specific residential programme that deals openly with work pressure, financial failure, drinking culture and the rebuilding of relationships — through group therapy, one-to-one counselling and daily structure.

De-Addiction for Women

A secure, separate programme recognising that women face different stigma and different consequences. Counselling focuses on self-esteem, mental health, safety and support for mothers and caregivers.

Internet & Phone De-Addiction

Compulsive internet, gaming and phone use are increasingly common among students and young adults, and bring isolation, sleeplessness and anxiety with them. Treatment is behavioural — digital detox, CBT and rebuilt routine.

Dual Diagnosis

When addiction sits alongside depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder or psychosis, treating only one of them fails. Our psychiatrists treat both conditions simultaneously, under one plan, in one place.

Worth saying plainly

Relapse is not proof that treatment failed. It is a known feature of the illness. What matters is how quickly someone comes back — and we would always rather take a call than hear about it a year later.
